You must accept my thanks for so kindly thinking of me. Of "Helen" [novel by Maria Edgeworth], what can I say that is worthy of her!! My friend & I have taken leave of her with regret - the moment she arrive all other books laid aside & I read aloud three hours each evening till the end & last dramatic scene almost conquered me. The calm & self-commanding Julia Grant said 'it is indeed very affecting' .
