- Scope and ContentOld Enemy (pain in my Leg) visited this winter with more severity than many years past. Have mental as well as bodily pain as valuable & excellent Mother has had return of Fever. Fever now conquered but weakness so great we fear much from that, tho' Sir H Halford does not despair; yet we see he doubts. Have lately seen your friends Mrs & Miss Carr. Congratulated Miss Carr on news. Miss Carr frets about Lady Lushington who does not like to give up her son to anyone, am quite sure Lady Lushington will find she has gained a Daughter & not lost a Son. Almost forgotten to mention the beautiful lamp. Placed it in cabinet for safety till taught by you how you manage it.
