    Is transferring accumulated money from Coutts, where it bears no interest, to the National Provincial Bank of England in Cardiff. It will pay off another of the overdue prommisory notes. Reference to a contract for making an accommodation bridge at Cardiff under the main line of the Taff Vale railway. 'We have no pressure for money - our liabilities are easliy met and the large expenditure is rapidly drawing to a close.' East Dock was opened for trade on 14th September; the writer describes the proceedings. 'Lady James' [Hannah Crichton Stuart, widow of Lord Patrick James Herbert Crichton-Stuart who died September 1859] is at Whitby; she wished to get away from Dumfris House, which she wishes never again to enter. Mention of her son, James Frederick Dudley Crichton-Stuart. Reference to the possibility of William Stuart ceasing to be a trustee.
