- Scope and ContentThe £1,000 per year to be paid to Lord James Stuart is not liable to the same objection as the past payment of £1,500 by the trustees, viz that it was at the peril of Lord James' estate. It is a payment to be made to him by Lady Bute out of an allowance made to her for her son partly from the Scottish estates and partly from the Glamorganshire property. This payment Lady Bute is to make of her own free will. The bond of indemnity given by Lord James was a protection in the payment of the allowance only to Messrs Bruce and McNabb, the original trustees, and did not extend to the case of a substituted trustee, who was thus from the time of his appointment was wholly liable to refund monies so paid.
