Scope and Content
Robert Jeffery, inhumanly abandoned on a desert island by Captain Lake, originally came from Polperro. Lieutenant Millett of HMS Aboukir told writer that Jeffery escaped from Sombrero in an American ship, and his friends at Polperro had since heard from him. Mr Job of Polperro, or the Collector of Looe, can enquire if this is true.
