Friends met me in Los Angeles and took me off to an outdoor dinner party at friends - illuminated gardens - I got back to my hotel at 3a.m. I am feeling very tired, and shall welcome the peace of the castle. We finish up in Washington next weekend. J.H." [note on card: "received 29th".]
