- Scope and ContentPublished by Kruger for the Ceylon Tourist Board, no. 1432/7. Stamped with two 45c stamps. Frank indistinct. "We hear you now have a postal strike - so Heaven knows if and when you will receive this. This Buddhist temple must have been a wonderful sight 1000 years ago when it had a roof. There are four entrances like this. My feet are getting quite hard with all the sandal-removing one does before crossing temple thresholds! We visited the Temple of the Tooth (Buddha's of course) at Kandy, thousands there to venerate it. Better a tooth than nothing I suppose. Anyway, it has had an amazing history. It even flew through the air from India to Kandy. If you don't believe it, you are no true Buddhist. Ceylon is the loveliest country I have ever seen: wonderful climate (no winter) and really charming people. J.H." [note on card: "received 11/3/71".]
