  • Scope and Content
Published by Bromostampa of Torino. Stamped with 40 lire stamp. Franked "Poste Venezia 16:17 7 III 1964". "VENICE. I have always said that Venice is the loveliest place I have seen on all my travels. For one thing, there are no cars, no 'buses, no supermarkets. It looks just the same as it does in Canaletto's and Guardi's pictures. Sheer joy to walk about with beauty on every side. I go from here to stay with friends in Jugoslavia (where our voyage ends), then to visit friends in Florence and near Turin: then to Menton, where it is possible I shall join a party on my cousin's yacht. Doubtful if I shall be back at the Castle before the end of May. J.H."
