Scope and Content
- all messuages, lands, tenements, hereditaments and premises whatsoever to wife Mary and her assigns for life.
On demise of wife:
- all lands, hereditaments and premises in Wootton to Samuel Taylor and Henry Taylor, sons of testator's brother in law Samuel Taylor as tenants in common
- all lands, hereditaments and premises in Kempston to grand nephew King Taylor, son of Henry Taylor of Great Missenden.
Should said King Taylor die under the age of 21, properties in Kempston to go to his father, said Henry Taylor
- to friends Robert Denis and Richard Furness, £580 upon trusts to pay the yearly interest, dividends and profits thereof to wife for her life. After death of wife to be divided as follows:
£100 share to Edward Tucker of Bedford, carpenter
£100 share to William Tucker of Bedford, carpenter
£100 share to Henry Tucker of Bedford, labourer
£50 share to James Smith, son of testator's late sister Ann Smith
£30 share to Sarah Pettitt, sister of the said James Smith
£100 share to William Taylor, sergeant in the Bedfordshire militia
£30 share to Elizabeth, sister of the said William Taylor
£30 to Ann, another sister of the said William Taylor
£40 to Mary Bates, wife of Joseph Bates of Southwark, victualler
Legacies to Sarah Pettitt, Mary Bates, Elizabeth and Ann, sisters of the said William Taylor to be for thier sole use.
- Residue of estate and personal effects to wife.
Request that wife make provision for brother in law Henry Taylor and sister in law Susanna Kernock.
Wife Mary appointed sole executor.
Witnesses: Samuel Ashby, Abraham Burr and Theed Pearse.
Codicil:
- to Robert Denis and Richard Furness further £60 on trusts to pay the yearly interest, dividends and profits thereof to wife for her life. After death of wife to be divided as follows:
£30 share to niece Hannah Taylor of Cardington, spinster
£30 share to niece Susanna Penwright, wife of Henry Penwright, for her sole use
