Scope and Content
Gives thanks for the explanation of the state of the parties among the Irish Catholics. Does not doubt that, with temperate conduct, a great measure of repeal of the religious disabilities might be arranged. The manner in which proposals have been received has created prejudice. The objections made arise from political and not religious scruples. Dr. Milner's going to Rome is unlikely to lead to conciliation.
