    …piece of ground lying between the Great and Little Cawseys, used for a passageway to the Great Bridge and Earls Holm of John Cater "and whereas the said John Cater intends in a short time by and with the consent of all the rest of the said Trustees parties to these present to cut and open a visto or prospect from his Mansion house into the Fields of Biddenham .. and in order thereto it will be necessary to cut down severall of the Elm trees now standing and growing in the Hedgrowes on both sides the said Great Cawsey together also with some part of the said Hedges and likewise severall of the Willow Trees now growing in a certain meadow there calles the Great Flaggs" i) agree, in consideration of the yearly sum of 2s, that John Cater can cut down as many of the elm trees in the hedgerows of the Great Causey "in a direct view to the said John Cater's Mansion House" with willow trees in Great Flaggs etc. "as will be necessary in Order to the clearing and opening of a visto or prospect now exceeding one hundred Feet in breadth" from the house to Biddenham fields, John Cater to leave a sufficient mound or fence Money arising from the sale of the trees so cut down to go to parish purposes Witnesses: C Sheldon, J Monoux, John Wale, William Waldeck, Benjamin Cater, Henry Horton, William Smith clerk, John Betts clerk, Thomas Carter, Elizabeth Carter, Thomas Brooks, Margaret Money
