    Justinian Povey of Hounslow (county Middlesex), esquire, to Richard Syms, gentleman and John Wonham, yeoman, of Shalford (county Surrey) [recites: A) Recognisance for payment of £600 (Statute Staple), dated 19 February 1635/6: Sir Richard Conquest of Houghton Conquest, knight, to Justinian Povey B) Writ of extent sued out by Justinian Povey in Chancery, Hilary term, 1646/7 C) Inquisition held on 19 March 1646/7 at Shefford by Matthias Taylor, esquire (High Sheriff), by which it was found that Sir Richard Conquest was seised of:- a capital messuage in Houghton Conquest, in occupation of Sir Richard Conquest; a messuage in Hawnes, in occupation of Richard Keyes junior; a close of pasture in Hawnes called Little Beane Croft (4 acres); a messuage in Hawnes in occupation of Thomas Richardson; a close of pasture in Hawnes called Newfeild (52 acres), then in occupation of Sir Richard Conquest, Richard Baldocke and Thomas Fletcher; a close called Clarkes in Hawnes (30 acres) in occupation of Sir Richard Conquest; a close called Maudlin in Hawnes (16 acres) in occupation of Sir Richard Conquest; 4 closes (35 acres) in Hawnes in occupation of William Worlidge; and Margets Close and Over Maudlin Close (35 acres) in Houghton Conquest and Hawnes, in occupation of Thomas Richardson; all together of the yearly value of £200.
