Captain Dennison ran off with 16 year old Miss Oxley to Scotland. Miss Oxley just returned from Manor School, has fortune of £1600 when she comes of age. Dennison made similar expedition with, now deceased, Lady from Auleffield. Mr. Handley, woollen draper, is bankrupt. The Egertons will prevent if possible the Chancery Suit defeating Mrs. Worsley's claim. Mickle to meet Sir J. Frankland at Thirkleby. He is cutting down wood at Oldwick. Keep the Gugava for whoever may want it. Lord Herbert ill. King has lame V.Chamberlain. Fritz would not want latter Office. Glad St. John's pittance secured. Lord N. has sufficient levity to have written epigram himself [see L 30/15/54/253*]. India House in Soho; abominable [black prostitute]. Will not see Nanny until March. She wants some Spanish plants but all seeds disposed off.
