Gradual improvement in health. Doesn't quite understand nature of Mrs. Worsley's Chancery Suit [see also L 30/14/333/308]. Thought similarly of Mrs. Mortyn's place, forgot it was in gift of Lord Chamberlain. Four neat candlesticks will be useful but thought first silver object was to be a coffee pot. Sorry that Register Leaves of Bible cannot be recovered. Great Room in St. James' Square an excellent place for children on a rainy day. Received letter from Lady Pelham, Tom about to leave them. Very mild weather, Ure up, supposes Swale follows tomorrow. Sir J. Ramsden & Mr. Parker at Newby [Park] to see improvements. Betty Smith lamented that the rooms were degarnie. Sir J. wants plan & elevation of stables. Bud struck by communication between staircases etc.. Tom Smith wants to know if the does are to be killed this year as usual. Waddilove to have his half doe. Alsop asks about Mr. Hasting's return from India. Billy Wanley buried this evening. Leaves wife & two daughters. Eldest with Dean, youngest with Mother.
