Francis Crawley of Bedford, esquire, to George Heath of Houghton Conquest, yeoman [recites original Demise, dated 25 July 1614: William Caynhoo, George Heath and Richard Wheeler [as in X520/28], William Linford of Hawnes, weaver, and John Sheffeild late of Hawnes, husbandman … a messuage in Northwood End in Hawnes, with 2 closes adjoining (5 acres), in occupation of John Samme, between a messuage with a close of pasture of John Osborne, esquire, West, and a messuage in occupation of Nicholas Foster on East, abutting North on the common street; 2 pightles called Buttmead Pightells (2 acres), and 59 acres 2½ roods of arable in the fields of Hawnes.
