    i) Sir Samuel Luke of Woodend in Cople, knight ii) Oliver Luke, esquire (son and heir apparent of Sir Samuel Luke) iii) Richard Edwards of Arlesey, esquire and William Roswell of London, gentleman [recites that by a marriage settlement X520/11, the manors of Hawnes, Woodend and Wiggens etc. were settled by Sir Oliver Luke (father of Sir Samuel Luke) to use of Sir Oliver Luke for life, with remainder to Sir Samuel Luke for life, and remainder to first son of Sir Samuel Luke and heirs male; and that Sir Oliver Luke has surrendered his estate for life in the said property to Sir Samuel Luke; and that Oliver Luke, esquire has agreed to sell lands of his own to value of £5,000, which he is to pay to Sir Samuel Luke] … the manors of Hawnce alias Hawnes, Woodend, Wiggens and Sowches; Woodend Park; 10 messuages, 4 dovehouses, 20 gardens, 1,000 acres land, 100 acres meadow, 700 acres pasture, 100 acres wood and 500 acres furze and heath; in Hawnes, Houghton Conquest, Cardington, Eastcotts, Clophill, Wilshamstead, Cople, Woodend and Warden. Also the Rectory of Aspley Guise, with tithes. And also the advowson of the church of St Paul and All Saints in Bedford. (To hold the following: several closes in Woodend Park and Cople, in occupation of Charles Purser (rent: £56) and Edward Wood (£69), Hatleyes Wood in occupation of Sir Samuel Luke (£12), closes in occupation of John Catline (£66), Eastwickes Close in occupation of Sir Samuel Luke (£8), coppices in Woodend in occupation of Sir Samuel Luke (£9) and a messuage in Hawnes in occupation of Widow Holden (£52); to use of Oliver Luke for 99 years, then to use of Sir Samuel Luke for life, and then to use of said Oliver Luke.
