- Scope and Content- property as in NC57-58, late in occupation Joseph Goss, now Thomas Gurney; also pieces of arable (3 acres) late in occupation Thomas Standbridge, then Thomas Stevens, now Thomas Gurney. Note by Mr F G Gurney of Claridge's, Eggington 15 July 46, on Bletchwell (NC57-58; NC67-68): "Bletchwell must be the very large (and formerly open) field in which the very curious spring now called Brettch'll (? Breach Well) exists - far from any house, old or new, and just below the Romano-British site upon Harlington Hill, west of the village. It formed the water-supply of the Roman site. All the property named was in Gurney's hands in 1842, but belonged to Thomas Twidell, presumably successor of William Twidell"
