Message is reads 'Just heard poor Mrs Sleash [?] has died suddenly we suppose and she went to her daughter Mary nr Leamington sat & Annie to Wollaston[?] Mrs Barnes had telephoned yesterday & H S has sent me word but says nothing is yet known. I do feel I have lost a true friend & she was so fond of you! & how sad for the 3 girls to lose such a mother. Dearest love.'
