Old does being given to most distressed poor. Park-keeper says none given to gentry. Giving Phyllis/Phillis Carter 3s per week (broken arm). Meeting of parishioners; agreed to give all labouring poor 6d per head for each child per week under 10 years; thus labourer with 4 children receives from master 9s, and from parish 2s. This is a plan more generally adopted in county than any other (e.g. Harrold). In some places they agree and buy barley and grind it and sell to poor at 5s bushell. Potatoes which ladyship saw were keepers; poor had stolen some, he only got 8 bushels. They are now 3s bushel. Ladyship's goodness giving 10 guineas for poor.
