Has obtained berth as midshipman for the 2 sons of Frederick Fitzroy; they will live in the mates' mess, which will cost £50 each. They will require £50-60 each for outfit, & should have introductions to persons in India who might help them forward. SW to Captain Curtis: asking him to undertake the purchase of the equipment. Has £100 for each & no more in his hands; asks for return of this letter.
