    appoints wife Elizabeth and her brother, the Reverend Thomas Martyn, Professor of Botany at University of Cambridge as executors, All wine, furniture, books, plate, horses and other chattels not otherwise disposed of to be sold and proceeds to wife and children under sole direction of wife, while she remains single; To wife, Elizabeth, 1/3 of principal; on remarrying interest not applied for education of children to be divided between son, John Martyn and daughter Eulalia Maria, in such proportions as executors agree on. If they do not agree to be divided equally during life of mother and 1 year after her death all to son, John Martyn, as daughter will then be in possession of mother’s estate; To son, John Martyn, gold watch made by Ellicott and any books the executors reserve for him. To daughter, Eulalia Maria, any piece of plate or furniture chosen for her by executors; To wife, Elizabeth, such linen, books or plate as she and her brother may wish to reserve for her use. All Manuscripts. either to be destroyed or preserved as wife sees fit. To son, John Martyn, £10 left testator by brother James, to be repaid on death of his widow; To brother in law, Thomas Martyn, the small neat set of castors with the labels and stand, formerly given me by a friend deceased. 27 July 1789 Attested by Joseph Hall 29 November 1789
