Sample of entries: Sunday 15 Jan: A beautiful bright frosty day. A most peaceful day; if fact the most peaceful one I have had all these holidays. W., B., and I went to St.Paul's. Kept J. from church with a slight cold. Took him for a little walk before dinner. Quiet afternnon with my J. Miss Collie came to tea and stayed till 7 o'clock. Felt all the better for a quiet day. Friday 10 Nov: The whole day in until 4 o'clock when weather cleared up somewhat. I paid one or two calls, ending with tea at Mrs Allen's. B. very happy with Eleanor spending the afternoon with her. Mrs Coates came in morning to help me with my knitting and she sat with me some time which I much enjoyed.
