    Partly official archives of the school but also made up from items deposited by staff and ex-pupils. The collection was put together on an ad hoc basis and was catalogued by school staff before being deposited with Bedfordshire & Luton Archives Service. The school retains many of its own records and has it's own honorary archivist. See also the Harpur Trust collection. HT.
  • System of arrangement
    Arranged mainly by the periods covered by the various headmasters but with separate sections for photographs etc. because of the way that the collection was accumulated the catalogue is not structured beyond this and it can therefore be difficult to use. The main collection is referenced according to the initials of the headmaster of the time, and the sections of the list are arranged chronologically rather than alphabetically. In addition, there are sections of the list (eg. B and P) describing particular types of material. The following contents list aims to indicate the order of the catalogue for those unfamiliar with the names and chronological sequence of the sussessive headmasters.
