  • Scope and Content
Sample of entries: Monday 18 January: Was out with B & J in park for a good walk. Called on Miss Collie but found her out. The matron returned, Elizabeth left, and the new kitchen maid, Elizabeth Bartle, came. I went to town in afternoon for commissions and had my hair washed. Scott turned up a day too soon, to our disgust and vexation. Wednesday 23 March: Weather colder, but fine. Was out during morning for shopping. In the afternoon I packed up many old clothes of boys etc., to send away. Nurse not well and had to go to bed. Thought much of dear Mother on her birthday today.
