Sample of entries: Sunday 17 Feb: Went to the two School services. Will preached on manners. Saturday 9 March: Went out with my babies and nurse and we all went to the town and Bess and I visited the flower market. An afternoon in and had 6 visitors in all and several to tea. Mr. Went arrived after Hall dinner; we much enjoy having him. Wednesday 15 May: A perfectly fine and glorious day. W and I lunched at Woodbury Hall, going by train to Potton where their carriage met us. After lunch saw the Woodbury garden and then Will & I went to Tetworth with Miss Astell and her brother. The place looked charming. We left after tea for home, driving to Sandy, and were laden with lovely flowers, much to the children's delight. We much enjoyed our day out. Saturday 7 September: Eleven years since our engagement took place. Will gave me a dear little pearl and amethst locket. He and I had an early bathe. Such a lovely day and so warm. B & J paddled all morning. We and children went to tea at the vicarage and after our return boated to Life Boat Bay. A much worried evening; Lizzie & Lily out so late at 11 o'clock Will went out to bring them in. A fine row is consequence.
