    Thanks parents for letter and responds to comments they made. Refers to a weekend with Dorothy Vernon; had taken here to hear 'Q' lecture, and they went on a cycle ride and had tea at Granchester. Has been to coaching in rowing, punting and canoeing. Has passed the test to become a 'competent canoeist'. Dymphna took the test also, but fell in the river. Describes a peripatetic lecture which included a visit to Erasmus' rooms and an old monastic fish pond at Queens College. Refers to Professor Chadwick, who writer's father has been writing to about a prospective Franch master. Writer is taught by Chadwick, who spoke to her about Mr B. 'I have forgotton his name' [the prospective teacher]. Writer gathers that Mr B. is excessively brilliant, but incapable of dealing with boys or keeping them in order. Describes Charwick's opinions of the man. There has been an appeal for clothes for the College mission in the East End. Writer asks parents to send some items that are too small for her so she can donate them. Writer has sent some asparagus. Describes a talk by Mr Russell of King Alfred's School, Hampstead about co-education. He was an excellent speaker. Has decided to take parents advice and stay at Cambridge for three years, but what to do afterwards is a problem. 'English seems to lead to nothing but teaching.'
