Wing has completed the last dam of Bedford bridge. People think the canal will be beneficial to the town. Sir G Osborn is pledged to come forward with a certain sum. If Tavistock's friends will leave Pym to fight his own battle, all will be well. Leeds goes forward, & Lord Hinchinbrook & Fellows are in the dumps. Lady Spencer's influence would be a great asset. Duke of Gloucester to inspect the militia & hunt in Kempston wood. Leeds will be warned. Description of a freehold in Bedford for sale. Watch should be kept on the ownership of the new freeholds created by the Clophill enclosure.
