  • Scope and Content
'I am told I look well, but the wretched malady has shaken me badly.' Is going abroad for the winter on the advice of his doctor; is going to Montrose on Nov 5. Plans to go to Rome and Naples in February. Regrets he will miss Kaye's visit. Has been to Norfolk, but stayed at a hotel in Hunstanton, as his cottage in Holme is let. Liddle was camping at nearby Heacham. Refers to the Harpur trust, and schools committee members being mostly staunchly 'Grammarian' or 'Modernian'. Farrer hopes to keep himself clean of bias as chairman. Refers to neighbour R.C., and his spending money without consent of the Governors.
