  • Scope and Content
"My sister Bell has amused me ... with an account of the several alterations so much for the better your Grace has lately made there [Wrest], as the filling up of Mr Ackres canal and making a handsome terrace in the room of it answering to that on the other side which leads to the Hill House ... I was ever of the opinion that such a walk would be much more noble by reason that the gardens are enlarged by it and must make things more of a piece. I've heard nothing how the trees prosper upon Cain Hill ... it is one of my favourite places ... all will be so considerably changed by the growth of the trees and the several improvements... that I shall be able to entertain but a faint idea of the place". The Prince.
