- Scope and Content"The plans your Grace sent by Mr Du Puy (?) came hither but 2 days ago, the plan of the gardens we have not yet received ... In the plans I saw at your Grace's I think there was a good deal of stone work, and because architects are very apt to put a great deal of pillars, pilasters etc. into their plans, I thought it necessary to know your Grace's intention about that ... These plans seem much plainer, and to have hardly anything but what may be executed with brickwork, which with a good symmetry may still have a great deal of beauty".
