    The mortality among all ranks due to illness, combined with those lost in the campaign and the retaking of Grande-Terre, have reduced this force, and the recruits only fill the hospitals & die. Does not feel equal to another campaign. Does not know what will happen if the enemy are reinforced. Glad to hear the good account of Lady Elizabeth. Asks for opinion on the change of ministry & Lord Portland. George & William are with him; all others are dead, all his 6 servants except a little black he got for his wife. Feels the loss of Tyson.
