    Recites: Lease under the Great Seal 15 July 13 Charles II [1661] i) the King ii) said John Ashburnham -park or late park or enclosed ground called Ampthill Great Park, in Ampthill, Millbrook and Houghton, parcel or reputed parcel of the manor and honour of Ampthill :S. and E. warren of Ampthill :W. and N. Millbrook Fields :other parts N. on Houghton fields and the common way there from Ampthill to Millbrook :E. and S. in part on common way from Ampthill to Houghton and part on close or park called Houghton Park containing 650 acres 1 rood together with mansion house or lodge called the Great Lodge situate within the said park or late park, in that part thereof which is in the parish of Ampthill, with all stables, orchards, gardens and yards and appurtenances. -brick building called the Stand situate within the said park or late park, in that part thereof which is in the parish of Ampthill, near the warren towards the S. -messuage or lodge called the Little Lodge situate within the said park near the highway from Ampthill Gate to the aforesaid mansion house called the Great Lodge, towards the W. from Michaelmas [1661] for 40 years paying £40 per annum by half yearly payments Recites: Indenture of Assignment 9 August 13 Charles II [1661] i. John Ashburnham ii. Thomas Earl of Elgin iii. Sir Henry Chester, Richard Taylor, John Hanson at request of ii. i. assigns to iii. -Ampthill Great Park and all other premises belonging thereto, for residue of term of 40 years in trust for ii. recites: Indenture under the Great Seal 21 July 18 Charles [1666] i] the King ii] John Ashburnham demises -Ampthill Great Park and all other premises belonging thereto, for term of 40 years from after the expiration of 40 years granted above. NOW: consideration: £600 paid to i) by Robert Earl of Ailesbury, assigns to Chester, Taylor and Hansom -Ampthill Great Park with premises as above to hold for 40 years after the determination of the first term of 40 years. in trust for Robert, Earl of Ailesbury signature: i) Witnesses: Robert Clayton, John Lawrence, John Ryley
