- Scope and ContentHis second visit to the Haynes poorhouses was on 2 April 1802. He found them in nearly the same state as when he visited on 8 December 1801. The overseers had not done any repairs or relieved the inhabitants in any way, except for [Mary] Litchfield who said she had since received a waistcoat (?) for one of her boys. On his third visit on 27 April he found that the overseers had given a few necessaries to the following paupers: William Litchfield - a pair of shoes Elizabeth Oliver, Diana Oliver and Sarah Oliver - a shift each Wiliam Ingram - a shirt John Ingram - a shirt and a pair of shoes Ann Whitmore - a shift and a a pair of shoes.
