    The guide, designed in part to persuade people to move to Ampthill includes: A history of and a guide to Ampthill of the 1930s, which includes sections on: the amenities of the town, local places of interest within the town and nearby countryside, such as the Catherine Cross and the Old Oak in Ampthill park. A brief history of the development and historic importance of the town, suggestions for several walks of varying length from Ampthill market place, suggestions of excursions further afield in the local area, with a brief description given of each local town or village, as well information on bring electrical items to the town. A map of the Eastern National Railways Midland section including most of Bedfordshire, Advertisements, generally of a full or half page of type or small illustrations & include several local businesses and establishments, such as Pecks & Co., Ltd., The White Hart Hotel, Nott's Cafe and The Flitt Motor Co. Printed photographs of the Catherine Cross, St. Andrew's Church, and Houghton ruins mostly covered in ivy and other trailing plants.
