A varied range of items from the personal collection of Jeanette Waller, a local historian interested in the social and commercial history of 20th century Ampthill. The collection is comprised of documents related to both her research for her published manuscript upon the subject, as well as documents and records pertaining to her roles within the Ampthill community, where she served as Chair of Parkside Hall and Planning Officer for the Ampthill & District Preservation Society, as well as playing a leading part in founding the Playgroup in Ampthill and development of the Play Area and the Holiday Play Scheme. The items mostly reflect her interest in History and Architecture, particulary that of Ampthill, with sources spanning the 20th century in a number of forms, from photographs and postcards of the town, to commercial records of businesses, to housing and development plans. Her deep interest in the town is also shown in her personal correspondence and work to both develop and protect the towns heritage.
