    Made by Thomas Burt, Bedford, tailor (eldest brother and heir of William Birt [sic]); consideration - £10 paid by brother Robert Burt, Bedford, tailor; Thomas quitclaims and releases to Robert his rights in - messuage known as the Bell in Kempston adjoining to Mill Lane, North; - close pasture adjoining - croft pasture in East End, Kempston (2 acres); East, copyhold of Paul Price, gentleman; said crofts now laid together (4 acres); - 5½ roods of changeable meadow ground in Box Meadow in Kempston, belonging to said messuage and occupied by tenants; all which said messuage, land etc were in the occupations of William Smith Butcher, Henry Joyce and Mary Burt, widow (mother of said Thomas and Robert); signature: Thomas Burt; witnesses: William Smith, John Wells; receipt 23 July 1796; copy made 6 April 1803
