- messuage in which 'I now dwell' in St Paul's, Bedford, to sister Mary Watford for life and then to her 2 daughters, Mary and Elizabeth; also to sister - £50 and all plate, linen, household goods, furniture and wearing apparel; to James, Samuel, Mary and Elizabeth Watford (4 children of said sister) - £50 each; to all children of late nephew, John Nevill, living 'at the time of my decease' £100 to be divided between them; to Reverend Mr William Wells (nephew of late husband) - £100; to Mrs Mary Page (niece of late husband) - £50; to Mrs Ann Kilpin (niece of late husband) - £100 (to be divided among her children if she is dead); to Mrs Abigail Rugeley (niece of late husband) - £50, for her own and separate use. To her 2 children, if dead; to Samuel Speechley, of Blunham - £20; to his brother, Mr John Kilpin - £5; to Mr Benjamin Palmer, Bedford, grocer, and Mr Edward Wells, Bedford, baker (executors) - £5 each in addition to their expenses; to church of Protestant dissenters in Bedford (Mr Symonds being lately minister) - £5 for the poor members (to be distributed as executors think fit); all said legacies to be paid within 6 months of her death; residue of her estate to sister Mary Watford and Ann Kilpin; Benjamin Palmer and Edward Wells appointed executors; Will dated 23 Dec 1789; With codicil - to sister Mary Watford - Additional £100; bequest of residue of estate jointly to Mary Watford and Ann Kilpin, cancelled and residue given to sister Mary Watford only; if sister die in testator's lifetime, then bequests to 2 daughters, Mary and Ann; codicil dated 11 Jan 1790; Will proved (Prerogative Court of Canterbury).
