i) Margaret Lowen, widow, Henry Lowen, Bedford, gentleman (only son of Henry Lowen, deceased, and Margaret), James Horton, citizen and grocer of London, and wife Elizabeth (daughter of Henry, deceased, and Margaret Lowen) ii) Thomas Perrin, woollen draper, Bedford, William Staines, Bromham, yeoman; James Horton was indebted to Henry Lowen, deceased, in £440 secured by a bond of 10 April 1707, with interest at 6%. Sum still remains due; As future disputes might arise concerning will of Henry Lowen, deceased, and disposition of money under said bond, has been agreed that Margaret will have property for her life, then to go to Henry who will pay £40 to ii) in trust for Elizabeth for her own separate use, Bond to be cancelled, James and Elizabeth have agreed to extinguish all claims to the property i) covenants to levy fine - Messuage in St Paul's, Bedford, late in the occupation of John Hancock, deceased, and now of John Goodhall and Richard Freeborne; East, Castle Ground; West, High Street; North, Messuage late in the occupation of Thomas Pancost and now of widow, Mary; South, messuage late in the occupation of William Bayley, deceased, and now of Richard Yarnton - White Swan late in the occupation of Henry Lowen, deceased, and also in St Paul's, Bedford - Castle Hill or Bowling Green, in Bedford - Close of pasture in which (it is supposed) the Castle of Bedford did sometime stand, called Castle Close adjoining Castle Hill (4 acres together in St Paul's) One side River Ouze, Other side Castle Lane and Bowling Green - Messuage in Kempston and Bromham, late in the occupation of Thomas Freeman and now of William Staines and John Fowler - Home Close lying near - Bushey Closes (2) in Kempston (14 acres) - 5 roods and 1 swathe meadow in Box Meade and anciently held with the messuage - 60 acres land 'Lyeing in three severall seasons in or neare the Box' and Bridge End in Kempston; Signatures i) Endorsed; witnesses: F Brace, John Penington, William Houlker, J Goodhall
