... to wife Mary - £1000 and all household goods etc; All messuages, lands etc and remainder of personal estate to friends William Long, Bedford, brewer, and Theed Pearse, Bedford, gentleman, in trust - To pay annuity of £100 to Mary Watkins for life in lieu of dower; to pay another annuity of £10 to sister, Martha Higgs, widow, for life on further trust - To raise from personal estate, or by mortgage of real estate - £1000 for daughter Mary Ann Watkins, to be paid at 21. Interest to be used for her maintenance meanwhile; As to rest of real and personal estate to sons William and Thomas equally; wife to have the care of the ch [ildren?] so long as she remains a widow; trustees may mortgage his real estate to raise 2 sums of £1000 and any money necessary for sons' advancement in life said trustees also appointed executors; Date of will 15 Aug 1801 Probate granted (Prerogative Court of Canterbury) - sworn at under £2000 25 Jan 1803
