Indictment - David Hayes of Eaton Socon for defrauding the Overseers of the Poor of Eaton Socon of 2 shillings when he had a pension of 9d per day coming in, by falsely pretending to William Clark the deputy overseer that he did not have anything coming in except what he got by travelling about and could not maintain his wife Jane Hayes. [3 counts] Plea not guilty. Verdict guilty.
