Contents:- Personal, household & estate accounts (disbursements only). [About 35 pages] [Detailed weekly accounts, made out mostly by a steward or similar servant, with a few items written by Chester himself. Not classified, but entered week by week]. [They seem to relate almost wholly to Bedfordshire estates insofar as the items are estate accounts; the accounts for 1639 are headed "Beckring in the house"; and nearly all the personal items concern places near Beckerings]. 1636-1644. [The remainder is at the reverse end] Odd payments & receipts. [3pp.] 1637-41 "The Charges of my Shrevaltey" [½p.] [Henry Chester: see Pub.Beds. Hist.Rec.Soc., xviii, 43 et seq]. 1636. "A Taxe for his Maiesteys Martiall Service". [Amounts (totals only) assessed on each parish]. [4pp.] [Cf. CH9]. 1618/9. Receipts for turf sold [names & sums]. [1p.] 1646. Butcher's weekly charges. [½p.] 1637. Receipts for turf dug & sold, and for agistment (pasturage let to other owners' beasts), relating to Beckerings Park. [Names, no. of turves, cows, horses, etc.]. Also other estate accounts (chiefly disbursements for mowing & making hay). [About 80 pp.] 1640-1647. "In Beckrenge Park in acompt to the Kinge" [disbursements of the nature of estate accounts]. [1 p.] [Note. - This page occurs towards the beginning of the large section described in the preceding entry]. 1639. Loose sheet, pasted into fly-leaf.
