Relating to the freehold: will of Abigail Potton, widow (proved Bedford). 13 August 1759 all her messuages, cottages, lands etc. to cousin, Edward Towersey, Bedford, clerk, in consideration of £90 goods and personal estate to cousin Elizabeth Towersey senior. Said Elizabeth appointed executrix Memorandum of said Elizabeth Towersey acknowledging the receipt from son, Edward Towersey, clerk, of said £90 will of said Edward Towersey of 28 January 1763 (proved Prerogative Court of Canterbury 23 May 1776) all real and personal estate bequeathed to wife. Wife appointed sole executrix Mortgage of 21 October 1776 i) Ann Towersey, Bedford, widow ii) Samuel Whitbread, esquire i) had borrowed £200 from ii), secured by bond in £400 i) demised to ii) ...messuage in High Street, St John’s, Bedford W. High Street late the estate of Edward Towersey, clerk and devised by him to i) term 1000 years interest 4% will of Samuel Whitbread of 29 June 1795 son, Samuel Whitbread, esquire, and cousin Jacob Whitbread of Lowdham Park, Suffolk, executors. Will proved (Prerogative Court of Canterbury) will of Ann Towersey, Bedford, widow, of 22 January 1803 freehold messuage in Bedford, wherein she dwelt, and leasehold orchard etc., to 2 nieces Mrs Mary Prichard and Mrs Ann Shove. Said nieces appointed executrices Relating to the leasehold lease for 3 lives of 6 February 1783 [ST1637] livery of seisin endorsed
