Recites: - 28 Hen 8th Recovery Michaelmas Term by John Colbeck of one messuage, 12 acres of pasture and one acre of wood in Lampitt end, Tempsford. - 10 July 1537 Indenture Joseph Lovett and Richard Lovett and Paul Colbeck. Paul levied a fine unto Joseph and Richard of one messuage 55 acres of land, 15 acres of pasture to the use of Paul Colbeck. - 20 May 1558 Indenture i) Charles Umpton and Mary and James Umpton their son, ii) Thos Edwards, iii) Thomas Campion and Edmond Brampston, iv) George Edwards and Thomas Christie. Consideration £250 intent to levy fine for land in Tempsford formerly in possession of Paul Colbeck. - 20 May 1558 i) William Staploe and Alice his wife, ii) Thos Edwards, iii) Thomas Campion and Edmond Brampston, iv) George Edwards and Thomas Christie. Consideration £250 intent to levy fine for land in Tempsford formerly in possession of Paul Colbeck - 21 May 1558 Lease reciting sequestration of estates of Charles Umpton and contract for two thirds. - Recovery by Charles Umpton and wife and Wm Staploe and wife of 60 acres land, 4 acres of meadow and 14 acres of pasture in Tempsford. - 1/2 Sept 1570 Lease & Release i) Richard Edwards, cousin and next heir to Thomas Edwards and son and heir of Thomas Edward senior, ii) John Edwards one of the sons of the said Thomas the father. i) grants to ii) all those lands mentioned in those two indentures of 20 May 1558 mentioned above. - 23 Jan 1570 Indenture i) John Edwards and Wentworth Edwards ii) Robert Vigerous and James Gould. - 13 Dec 1571 Indenture i) John Edwards and Frances his wife, ii) Wm Thomas i) to ii) all lands purchased of Charles Umpton. Fine levied. - 17 Apr 1574 Indenture i) Robert Vigerous, ii) Wm Thomas, iii) Isaac Thomas youngest son of Wm to set over the remaining term of 1000 years. - 5 March 1579 By will William Thomas did give and bequeath unto Isaac Thomas paying thereout 50l to his daughter Ann Edwards.
