  • Scope and Content
Reads: I write merely to say, that you must not think me shameless and thankless, wither for not having yet called in Wellington Street or even if I do not do so for some weeks to come; for in the first place though my health, thank God, is mush better than it was, it occasionally have severe drawbacks; and today will be the first time I have been out of doors for this fortnight, owing to an attack of liver; and secondly, some work for my pen has come in the meantime, which will probably keep me incessantly occupied half the day till the middle of next month, and when I am this unwell, the consequence of such mornings is that I am fit for nothing but to rest and read in the evenings, and take a moderate walk. They very first time I come into town will be to you.
