- Scope and ContentReads - I do not recollect having illustrated “Tales of a Cordelier” and think some other artist must have been employed, never the less I shall be more than happy to make the drawings for your friend’s work on the Jesuits, and if he wished to have them on wood, recommend good engravers to cut them. I do not engrave upon wood myself (in fact no designer or draughtsman does) but I etch my own designs on copper or steel and perhaps that process might be preferred as being more complete from the hand of.
