The Visiting Justices authorised Mr Warner to engage James Banfield as Turnkey and his wife as sub matron at the usual salary and allowance of coals. Immediately after next Quarter Sessions a new and much more strict system of prison discipline is likely to be adopted and the duties of the Turnkey consequently to be much more severe.
