- Scope and ContentPhilip Hunt. 67 prisoners. The Gaoler reported that on Saturday evening the 15th December Samuel Thompson, a debtor, had escaped from the gaol, by means of a rope thrown over the outer wall, and held by a confederate. In consequence of the excitement likely to have been raised among the prisoners, by the escape of Samuel Thompson, the Gaoelr applied for the assitance of an additional turnkey till the agitation shall have subsided. The Visiting Magistrate hereby authoruised the Gaoler to hire and employ such assistant until the ensuing Quarter Sessions.
