Marriage Settlement
Parties:
(i) William Baker of Feckenham [Worcestershire], gentleman;
(ii) Martha Walker of Bedford, spinster;
(iii) John Holman of Saint Peter’s, Paul’s Wharf [City of London], gentleman
Reciting:
- intended marriage of (i) and (ii);
- (i) and (ii) were seized of estates in Feckenham and Bedford;
Operative Part:
- (i) would settle (a) on (ii) as a jointure with remainder to male heirs begotten on the body of (ii), or female heirs if in default of male heirs, or to (i) in default of any heirs [see R6/5/12/9];
- during their marriage (i) would allow (ii) £20 per annum for her own use
