Mitchell introduced Taylor to Mr W Hodgson, Phoenix (Actuary) Law Life Fund. The correspondence includes mention of the financial conditions of the day as well as personal messages from Mr Mitchell. It is unclear whether the loan and insurance was arranged as the correspondence ends ‘I was advised that Mr Hodgson was with you last week and you were to let him know the result of your Council Meeting. If you have not done so, please drop him a line thanking him for his extreme Courtesy, and tell him when you think Business will result. Frankly, the News in your Wire was “such” that I thought it better not to mention Bedford when I saw Mr Hodgson on Friday Afternoon…”
