    i) John Lindsell, esquire, Wellington Square, Hastings, Sussex and Lincoln’s Inn, Middlesex, esquire ii) Reverend John Paley late of Hook, Yorkshire, and now of Codsall, Staffordshire, clerk Charles Barnett, Stratton Park, esquire Frederick Hogg, Girtford, esquire recites: SL1/143 whereas: said John Lindsell has requested ii) to lend him £2000 which they have agreed to do upon having the repayment secured on premises. Also these presents shall be security for future advances by ii) Interest 4% Total amount borrowed shall not exceed £4000 i) conveys to ii) - capital messuage ( as in SL1/110 – in Broom) - Cookes Close - Hill Edge Field allotment subject to payment of interest secured to ii) by SL 1/110 On all other sums borrowed the same 4% interest is payable from time such sums advanced Provided that said sum so paid and any further amounts will be money belonging to ii) in a joint account and so survivors of ii) shall remain entitled to the principal sum Power of sale in case of default i) will keep premises insured against fire signature i) endorsed receipt for £2000 on 9 November 1866 receipt for further £2000 in March 1869 witness Elizabeth A.B.Lindsell 9 Nov 1866 Also endorsed with Transfer of mortgage and further charge i) John Lindsell ii) John Paley Frederick Hogg iii) Frederick Archdale, Baldock, Hertfordshire, esquire Edward Barber Lindsell, Hitchin Hertfordshire, gentleman iv) Frederick Hogg Frederick Archdale the mortgagees Edward Barber Lindsell whereas: in addition to sum of £2000, the further sum of £2000 was advanced on security of within written indenture : Charles Barnett died in June 1876. iii) appointed trustees in his place : said 2 principal sums of £2000 and £2000 (totalling £4000) are now owing, all interest having been paid and same sum of £4000 has become property of mortgagees : mortgagees have agreed to lend i) further sum of £2000 at 4% interest on having repayment secured as hereafter appears now ii) assign to iv) - within principal sum of £2000 and further sum of £2000 and interest - interest of ii) in same premises also ii) with consent of i) and i) also grants, to ii) - capital messuage comprised in within written indenture to hold to use mortgagees signatures i), ii), iii) receipt witnesses F.W.Paley M.O.H.Aylmer T.J.Hooper 6 Jul 1878
